#10 One Missed Call

I did not enjoy watching the movie, One Missed Call. The acting was painfully awkward and nothing seemed to relate to the next line of events. The plot line was extremely predictable which left me annoyed at bored. A character would miss a phone call, they heard a message of how they would die, then they died. That sequence of events repeated itself continuously for two hours. Painful, I know. This film put a modernized twist on ghosts haunting the living by allowing the dead to communicate through cell phones. It was quite similar to other horror films, like The Grudge. It was obvious that the film makers wanted to add in random elements from Japan. Like having the first scene in the movie take place in Japan, and adding in Asian dolls wherever possible. I still don't understand why film makers seem to believe everything will be scarier if it has an Asian character or takes place in Asia. The special effects in this movie were also very fake and unbelievable. Overall, I would rate this movie a 1 out of 5, if even that.
